Fishing Associations

 Catch and Release Techniques*

  • Use barbless hooks
  • Land the fish quickly
  • Keep fish in the water as long as possible when unhooking it
  • Don't stick objects in fish's gill or squeeze the fish
  • Before touching the fish, wet hands
  • If the fish swallowed the hook, cut the line

    • Technical stream flow data for rivers and streams in Arkansas. If you want charts that tell the river level in feet, select "stage data." If you want charts that tell you the river flow in cubic feet per second (cps), select "flow data." If you want historical flow information, select "water retrieval data." For the White River click" White River at Calico Rock" GIF. This will give you a week's worth of past stream flow information in chart form for a point about 50 miles below Bull Shoals Dam. It takes roughly 24 hours for water released at the dam to get here. Remember this is past data. It is not a forecast. Be advised that river flows can change without notice. Always be prepared to move to safety in the event of rising water.
